Meet our Founder

Jennifer Jones is an award-winning entrepreneur and practitioner committed to creating lasting change. A proud graduate of Columbia College, Jennifer has devoted her work to empowering girls whose mothers are incarcerated through mentorship, mental wellness programs, and leadership development with Beauty Marks for Girls, a statewide nonprofit organization focused on breaking generational cycles and rewriting futures.

Inspired by her own experience of life with an incarcerated mother, Jennifer created Beauty Marks for Girls in 2019 to provide mentorship, hope, and resilience to girls facing similar challenges. Before launching the organization, she returned to her hometown to volunteer at the Leath Correctional Institution in Greenwood, SC, the very community connected to her story. Jennifer recalls her first class as intimidating but transformative.

“I didn’t just find my voice teaching in women’s prisons; I discovered my calling.”

Since then, Jennifer has overseen the development of more than six impactful programs serving girls ages 8–18. Under her leadership, Beauty Marks for Girls has helped mentees overcome significant social and emotional challenges, graduate high school, and enter college with partial or full scholarships.

The organization has been featured in The Greenville News, highlighted across multiple broadcast platforms, and honored with the George H.W. Bush Points of Light Award and the Ms. South Award from the Ms. Foundation for Women in Brooklyn, New York. Jennifer has also been recognized with the South Carolina Women in Business Award and named the recipient of the Upstate Diversity Leadership Award for Outstanding Nonprofit Organization by the Greenville Chamber of Commerce and the Riley Institute at Furman University.

Today, Jennifer continues to expand her mission and deepen her impact. Her vision is bold yet unwavering:
to ensure that every girl impacted by parental incarceration realizes her true potential
and becomes the one who breaks the cycle for good.
