Our Programs
H.E.R Space – Mental Health & Wellness Program
The Problem: Girls with incarcerated mothers face higher risks of depression, anxiety, and trauma, yet access to safe, stigma-free mental health support is often out of reach.
Our Solution: What began in 2021 as a simple effort to help one mentee who battled depression has grown into an award-winning, six-month intervention program, H.E.R Space. Rooted in neuroscience and strengthened through mentorship, H.E.R Space gives girls the tools to understand their emotions and connect deeply with others who understand their story. Each session builds confidence, emotional awareness, and a renewed sense of possibility.
The Impact: In just one year, H.E.R. Space enrollment doubled and now serves an average of 17 youth each month. Participants reported greater emotional awareness and resilience, while caregivers and teachers observed significant improvements in behavior, communication, and engagement.

H.E.R Essentials Program
The Problem: Across the U.S., nearly 1 in 5 girls have missed school because they couldn’t afford period products. For girls impacted by incarceration, financial hardship makes this need even greater, threatening confidence and attendance.
Our Solution: By meeting a basic human need with care and consistency, H.E.R Essentials helps break cycles of scarcity and insecurity, helping girls move through the world with confidence and self-worth.
The Impact: To date, Beauty Marks for Girls has distributed over 2,000 hygiene products to justice-impacted youth and their families.

Higher Education Program -H.E.R Pursuit Academy: A Personalized Career and College readiness program
The Problem: Children of incarcerated parents face some of the lowest college completion rates in the nation — with fewer than 2% completing higher education. Beyond financial hardship, many also lack access to mentors, career guidance, and exposure to opportunities that prepare them for life after high school.
Our Solution: H.E.R Pursuit Academy provides a personalized approach to career and higher education readiness. Through one-on-one coaching, skill-building workshops, career exploration, and scholarship support, we help girls design clear pathways to success — whether that’s college, trade school, workforce, or military service.
The Impact: Beauty Marks for Girls has already helped three mentees earn full-ride college scholarships. By combining financial support with personal guidance, H.E.R Pursuit Academy ensures that girls are not only prepared to take the next step but equipped to thrive long after graduation.
